CBOX© was born from a team of engineers, architects, BIM Managers and BIM Specialists to face problems that they encounter daily in the design, construction and management phases of the works. In a single platform, it brings together the best of solutions dedicated to individual and specific phases of the construction supply chain.

Limitations to overcome regarding the collaboration platforms general status
Outdated or non-updated software
We have noted that collaboration environments based on old concepts, or non-updated or complex platforms still exist.
Inability to perform and manage O&M operations
To handle facility operations, as ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, we have always had to use multiple platforms or various management methods.
Limited steps and activities in the workflow
Customizing a workflow is always complex and limited, sometimes completely impossible.
Limited features, often related simple data storage
As other platforms often allow only consultation of the downloaded documents, we aimed to build a platform with features that could be the starting point to include new processes and applications.
Programs focused exclusively on the construction sector and construction site management
We believe that a good CDE platform should also suitable and be used profitably in other areas.
Poor or excessively expensive customization
Due to the rigidity of the software used over the years, the usage of most of the collaboration platforms was very limited. To use them efficiently a lot of expensive customization was needed, when possible.
Too many steps for simple operations
We experimented the large amount of time is wasted in complex processes to find a document placed inside a platform.
We therefore started from a deep conviction
A workplace cannot and should not be seen as a simple repository where each operator uploads documents of the project.
For this reason, we oriented towards a new way of thinking
We believe that a collaborative environment together with management and control procedures should be effective and transparent as they are a fundamental and indispensable aspect for the design and construction process, but above all for the management of buildings or infrastructures.
That’s what we did to get over the limitations: we changed the system
We aimed to build a system in which all actors involved don’t just upload files but must actively participate in the project, having the possibility of exclusive access to data of specific competence, depending on their own profile and responsibilities.
In this scenario, there is an active dialogue between the actors of the project, optimized according to an organization chart fully customizable, according to specific activities, able to report issues and irregularities, but also to notify the solution to a problem or an activity closure.
And we have created a new interactive path
Progressively, we have adapted the platform to optimally manage the ever-increasing load of files, data and information that operators are called upon to handle. The CDE represents the heart of a BIM process as the core of the sharing environment where all actors involved in the process converge and interact.
